About the Author

Hi, I’m Jasmine Walton, a farmer and mum at Sunnybank Farm, a real working regenerative farm near Ballarat on Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung Country.
I love caring for the land, animals, and plants, and I believe farming is really about stewardship, looking after the earth so it can thrive for generations to come.
​
After becoming a mum, I noticed that most children’s farm books were based on the same old stories, and I couldn’t find many that reflected the kind of farming we practice today, one that works closely with nature.
​
So I created The Magic of Nature at Sunnybank Farm to share a gentle, hopeful story about soil, insects, animals, and the beautiful connections that keep a farm alive.
I hope this book inspires children to see the wonder beneath their feet, and understand how the land that feeds us is cared for every day.
